Response to Alleged Affiliation with Marianne Williamson’s 2024 Presidential Campaign
DALLAS, TX (July 31, 2023) — At Dream for America, our mission is clear: offering a progressive alternative to far-right forces like Turning Point USA to build the most organized, active, and powerful pro-democracy grassroots network across the nation to engage young Americans of all backgrounds at all times — not just on the eve of an election. We’re helping usher in a new wave of progressivism that empowers Gen-Z (who will make up 60% of the electorate by 2036) to become the next generation of democracy defenders.
In light of negative media coverage surrounding Marianne Williamson’s 2024 Presidential campaign and inquiries to Dream for America about our alleged affiliation – we want to make it clear that we do not condone, support, affiliate, nor have we collaborated previously with her campaign in any way, shape, or form.
While it is true there were a handful of former volunteers who worked for both Williamson and Dream for America, many were terminated after allegations surfaced regarding their alleged criminal misconduct. Furthermore – from her abusive treatment of her staff to her position on vaccinations and continued stigmatization of those suffering from mental health, Marianne’s track record will never be reflective of Gen-Z’s blueprint for America. As an organization, we pride ourselves in our unwavering values of equitable treatment for our staff and transparency in our politics.
As the 2024 election season heats up, Dream for America maintains its support for pro-democracy candidates – including its unwavering endorsement of President Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign. Gen-Z knows that a better world is possible, and Dream for America is committed to supporting candidates who will listen to our voices, defend our democracy, and fight for our future.
